Project

Daily Ann Daan • Ration • Medicine — Elderly Widows of Vrindavan

Gurukul Foundation now serves every day—hot, sattvik meals, monthly ration support, and basic medicines (as per medical advice) for elderly widows living alone in Vrindavan. Your contribution of any amount becomes daily nourishment, week-long security, and timely care—delivered with dignity and consistency.

Project Vision

Convert compassion into daily reliability—so no mother sleeps hungry, ration never runs out, and basic health needs are met with respect and care.

Core Objectives

  • Serve fresh, hot, easy-to-digest meals every day.
  • Provide monthly ration kits with weekly top-ups for those most at risk.
  • Offer basic medicine support: BP/sugar checks, OTC essentials (doctor-advised).
  • Ensure women-led, queue-free, dignity-first distribution; frail-first policy.

What Your Contribution Supports

  • Daily thalis: dal/khichdi, roti, sabzi, seasonal fruit & safe drinking water.
  • Ration kits: rice, pulses, oil, spices, tea/sugar, salt, soap, detergent, toothpaste.
  • Medicine kitty (doctor-advised): paracetamol, antacids, ORS, cotton/gauze, bandages.
  • Cooking fuel, eco-friendly plates, hygienic packing & last-mile transport.

Daily Operations (How We Implement)

  1. Morning procurement & same-day hygienic cooking in a supervised kitchen.
  2. Two distribution windows (lunch/evening); doorstep drops for bedridden mothers.
  3. Simple token system; priority for frail/unwell; women-led service counters.
  4. Basic vitals desk (BP/sugar) with referral notes to nearby clinics when needed.

Transparency & Safeguards

  • Daily logs of meals served, kits issued, and medicine support extended.
  • Nutrition-first menu (low oil, light spice); safe water & clean utensils protocol.
  • Consent-based photography; privacy-respecting communications.
  • Zero-duplication checks with tokens/ID notes; responsible leftover redirection.

Positive Outcomes We Aim For

  • Reduced hunger & fatigue through predictable daily meals.
  • Week-long food security via ration; improved hygiene and comfort.
  • Early attention to minor ailments; fewer dizziness/weakness episodes.
  • Community-led model of compassion that preserves dignity.

Ways to Participate

  • Sponsor daily meals for 10 / 50 / 100 mothers—or more.
  • Fund a full ration kit (per mother) or a weekly replenishment.
  • Contribute to the medicine kitty or support vitals-check desk.
  • Set up a monthly pledge for uninterrupted daily seva.

Even a small gift keeps the kitchen warm and the medicine cupboard ready.

Note: Medicines are distributed only under medical guidance; emergencies are referred to partner clinics.
