Wheels of Compassion: Jagannath Rath Yatra Annadaan Seva
Join Gurukul Foundation in sharing freshly prepared meals with pilgrims, children, elderly people and families in need during the sacred Jagannath Rath Yatra.
A Sacred Journey of Faith, Unity and Service
Jagannath Rath Yatra is one of India’s most celebrated spiritual festivals. On this auspicious occasion, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra begin their divine journey in beautifully decorated chariots. Thousands of devotees gather with faith, devotion and joy to witness the sacred procession, offer prayers and seek divine blessings.
While the festival fills the surroundings with devotion, many pilgrims and underprivileged people spend long hours walking, waiting and participating in the celebrations without access to proper food. Children, elderly devotees, daily-wage workers and homeless individuals often remain hungry during this long and crowded journey. Gurukul Foundation is organising the Jagannath Rath Yatra Annadaan Seva to ensure that no person has to experience hunger on this holy day.
Annadaan: A Meaningful Offering of Compassion
Annadaan, the act of offering food, is considered one of the most meaningful forms of service in Indian tradition. Food provides strength, comfort and dignity. A wholesome meal can bring immediate relief to a tired traveller, a hungry child or an elderly devotee who has been standing for hours in the crowd.
Through this campaign, Gurukul Foundation aims to prepare and distribute fresh, nutritious and hygienic meals to people along the Rath Yatra route and in nearby areas. The food distribution will be carried out with care, respect and proper arrangements so that every beneficiary receives a meal in a safe and dignified manner.
Who Will Receive Your Support?
Your contribution will help Gurukul Foundation serve pilgrims travelling from distant places, poor families, children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, homeless individuals and workers supporting the Rath Yatra arrangements. Drinking water may also be provided wherever possible to help devotees stay hydrated during the procession.
How Your Donation Creates an Impact
Every donation, whether small or large, becomes a part of this compassionate mission. Your support can help purchase rice, flour, vegetables, pulses, cooking oil, spices, clean drinking water, serving plates and other essential materials required for meal preparation and distribution.
A single meal may appear simple, but for a hungry person it can mean energy, hope and the feeling that someone cares. When hundreds of people come together to support Annadaan Seva, thousands of meals can be served and countless moments of relief can be created.
Become Part of the Divine Celebration
The Jagannath Rath Yatra teaches us that the divine journey welcomes everyone without discrimination. In the same spirit, Gurukul Foundation believes that food should reach every hungry person, regardless of their background, age or social condition.
By supporting this campaign, you are not only donating food; you are sharing kindness, protecting dignity and becoming a source of comfort for someone in need. Your contribution can turn the sacred festival into a celebration of service and humanity.
