Khatu Shyam Makar Sankranti Seva

Makar Sankranti – Shri Khatu Shyam Nishahaye Aur Divyang Seva by Gurukul Foundation
Makar Sankranti is a festival of light, warmth, and new beginnings. On this sacred day, we thank Surya Dev for hope and harvest, and we also remember those who struggle silently in the cold—nishahaye (the helpless) and divyang (people with disabilities) who face winter with limited resources, limited mobility, and limited support. Many families are forced to choose between food and warmth. Some survive with torn clothing, thin bedding, and irregular meals—especially in harsh nights when temperatures drop and the body needs more protection and nutrition.
Through Shri Khatu Shyam Nishahaye Aur Divyang Seva, Gurukul Foundation is committed to spreading comfort and dignity this Makar Sankranti. We are planning a distribution drive where we will provide warm blankets and nutritious food to nishahaye individuals, divyang brothers and sisters, and families who are struggling to manage daily essentials. A blanket is not just fabric—it is protection from illness, relief from sleepless nights, and a feeling of safety. A meal is not just food—it is energy, strength, and a reminder that someone cares.
Why This Seva Matters
Winter hits hardest when a person is already vulnerable. For divyang individuals, cold weather can increase body pain, stiffness, breathing issues, and infections. For elderly or nishahaye people, even a minor fever can become serious when there is no warmth, no timely medicine, and no regular nutrition. By offering blankets and food, we reduce immediate risk and bring human warmth to lives that often feel ignored. This is seva with a purpose—support that reaches the ground level, directly into hands that need it the most.
What We Will Distribute
- Warm Blankets: Heavy, winter-friendly blankets to protect from cold nights.
- Fresh Food Packets: Hygienic, nutritious meals for immediate relief.
- Basic Winter Support: Priority support for those with mobility challenges and special needs.
- Respectful Distribution: Seva delivered with dignity, patience, and care.
Our On-Ground Approach
Our team and volunteers identify areas where support is needed the most—especially where divyang individuals, elderly people, and nishahaye families live in difficult conditions. We aim to distribute essentials in an organized way so that help reaches the maximum number of beneficiaries. Every blanket and food packet is handled with responsibility, and every interaction is guided by compassion. We believe that seva should feel personal—like family support—because dignity matters as much as delivery.
How Your Donation Helps
Your contribution becomes direct support on the ground. It helps us arrange blankets, prepare and pack meals, manage transport, and conduct a smooth distribution drive. Whether you donate small or large, your support creates real impact—one blanket can warm an entire night, one meal can restore strength, and one act of kindness can rebuild hope. On Makar Sankranti, when we pray for prosperity and positivity, let us also share blessings with those who need them the most.
