Makar Sankranti Old Widow Mata Seva: Food & Blanket Support Drive
By Gurukul Foundation • Feed Hungry Women • Provide Warmth Blankets • Share Compassion this Sankranti
Makar Sankranti is a festival of hope—when the sun begins its northward journey and families come together to celebrate warmth, harvest, and new beginnings. But for many old widow mothers living with limited support, these days can feel like a long winter—quiet, cold, and filled with uncertainty. A simple meal becomes a blessing, and a warm blanket can mean the difference between comfort and suffering on chilly nights. Through this Old Widow Mata Seva campaign, Gurukul Foundation is reaching out with love: hot, nutritious meals for hungry women and warm blankets to protect them from the cold.
Many elderly women have spent their lives caring for families and communities. Today, some of them are left behind—without stable income, without family support, and often with health challenges that make winters even harder. Our seva is a humble effort to restore dignity and comfort. With your support, we can serve food with respect, distribute blankets with care, and remind every Mata that she is not alone.
What This Campaign Supports
- Feeding Hungry Women: Fresh, wholesome meals prepared and served with dignity—especially for elderly widows and needy women who struggle to afford daily food.
- Warmth Blanket Distribution: Soft winter blankets provided to protect them from cold waves and nighttime chills.
- Care with Respect: Our volunteers ensure every distribution is peaceful, organized, and focused on compassion—no rush, no humiliation, only support.
Why Your Support Matters
Winters can be harsh, especially for elderly women with weak immunity, joint pain, or chronic illness. When someone sleeps without proper warmth, the risk of fever, respiratory infections, and worsening health increases. At the same time, hunger drains strength and hope. Your donation helps us plan distributions responsibly—so we can serve meals that nourish, and blankets that truly protect.
Even a small contribution can create a big impact. A single blanket can comfort a Mata for weeks. A single meal can restore energy and confidence. When many hearts come together, we can reach more locations, serve more plates, and cover more shoulders with warmth. This is not only charity—this is seva, a way to share humanity and blessings during Makar Sankranti.
How We Serve (Transparent & Ground-Level)
Gurukul Foundation works with on-ground volunteers to identify needy widow mothers and elderly women who require urgent support. Meals are served fresh, and blanket distribution is done respectfully, keeping the safety and comfort of the women as a priority. We maintain simple documentation for internal tracking so support reaches genuine beneficiaries, and we continuously improve our process to serve with efficiency and compassion.
