Mauni Amavasya Seva Drive — Feed the Hungry, Wrap Them in Warmth A Compassion Campaign by Gurukul Foundation

Mauni Amavasya is a sacred day of silence, reflection, and heartfelt giving. On this spiritually significant occasion, Gurukul Foundation is stepping forward with a simple promise: no empty stomachs and no shivering nights for those who need help the most. In many lanes and homes, elderly people, hungry families, and old widows face the harshness of winter with limited support. A warm meal becomes a blessing; a blanket becomes protection; and a kind gesture becomes hope.

Through this campaign, our volunteers will serve fresh, nutritious meals and distribute winter blankets to hungry people, senior citizens, and widows who often live quietly with unmet needs. Many elderly widows spend their days in solitude—some without steady income, some with fragile health, and many without family support. On Mauni Amavasya, when daan and seva are believed to bring peace and blessings, we aim to turn devotion into direct relief—warmth in hands, food on plates, and dignity in every interaction.

What We Are Doing on Mauni Amavasya

  • Feeding the hungry: Serving wholesome meals with care and respect—so no one is forced to sleep hungry on this holy day.
  • Supporting elderly & widows: Reaching old widows and senior citizens who need daily essentials, food support, and a comforting presence.
  • Distributing warm blankets: Providing winter blankets to protect against cold nights—especially for those with weak immunity and health risks.
  • Seva with dignity: Ensuring every person is treated with honor—because help should never feel like charity, it should feel like family.

Why This Campaign Matters

Winter is toughest for those who have the least. A small illness becomes serious for an underfed body, and a single cold night can be dangerous for an elderly person. Widows and senior citizens often hesitate to ask for help, even when they are struggling. This is why we are not waiting for requests—we are going out to find them, serve them, and stand beside them. On Mauni Amavasya, when many people seek spiritual merit through prayer and fasting, we invite you to add one more sacred act: feeding and warming someone who cannot manage it alone.
