Amavasya Gauseva Campaign — Feed a Cow, Kindle Inner Light
On the still night of Amavasya, when the sky turns moonless and quiet, we are reminded to illuminate the world through compassion. Gurukul Foundation launches the Amavasya Gauseva Campaign to transform devotion into daily nourishment for gau mata. Our focus is simple, sacred, and practical: annadaan for cows—fresh fodder, seasonal grass, clean water, and gentle care—so that every sacred life in our shelter eats in peace. Your participation ensures steady feeding cycles, reduces stress, and brings visible calm to the herd. On a night that symbolizes new beginnings, let us sow the seeds of kindness that continue to nourish long after the dawn.
Why Gauseva on Amavasya
Amavasya is a powerful time for reflection, vows, and quiet service. While many fast or pray, extending that spirit to animals multiplies the blessing. Abandoned, aging, and recovering cows rely on dependable meals to regain strength. Fodder and grass given today stabilize digestion, prevent deficiencies, and soothe anxiety caused by irregular feeding. By serving cows on Amavasya, you honor a tradition where compassion lights the path ahead—within homes, within hearts, and within the shelter where gentle lives wait for daily care.
What Your Support Provides
- Green fodder, hay, and chopped seasonal grass for balanced nutrition and easy chewing.
- Mineral–vitamin mix and salt licks to prevent weakness and support healthy metabolism.
- Clean water assurance, trough hygiene, and calm feeding spaces to reduce stress.
- Extra feeding rounds on Amavasya and nearby days for continuity and recovery.
- Basic first-aid inputs and observation notes for vulnerable or convalescing cows.
How We Steward Donations
Every rupee is directed toward feed procurement, transport, storage, and daily distribution. We source locally when possible to keep fodder fresh and costs low, then portion and schedule feeding to match herd size and health needs. Volunteers assist in unloading bales, chopping grass, cleaning troughs, and filling water. A simple log is maintained each day—quantity served, time, and herd response—so the team can adjust quickly and keep the process transparent. This disciplined approach ensures lean overheads and maximum impact: more bowls filled, more calm chews, more contented eyes.
Ways You Can Participate
- Amavasya Annadaan: Sponsor a full day of fresh fodder for the herd.
- Three-Day Seva: Support meals for the day before, the day of, and the day after Amavasya.
- Weekly Support: Keep feeding cycles steady through the lunar fortnight.
- In-Kind: Contribute grass bundles, hay bales, salt licks, or water tubs.
- Volunteer Time: Join morning feeding, trough cleaning, and fodder preparation.
Impact You Create
Consistent feeding improves body condition, energy, and immunity, especially for vulnerable cows. Regular water and hygienic troughs prevent avoidable ailments. With your help, the shelter becomes quieter and safer—an environment where healing is possible and dignity is preserved. The peace you feel in prayer is mirrored by the calm you create in the cows you feed.
Make Your Offering Today
On this Amavasya, let your devotion become a meal, your prayer a bowl of grass, and your resolve a steady rhythm of care. Support annadaan, sponsor fodder and grass, and help a sacred life feel safe and full. In every grateful chew resides a blessing for the hands that served.
