Sacred Full Moon Compassion: Vanar Seva
Project
Sacred Full Moon Compassion: Vanar Seva for Monkeys Paush Purnima Seva • Vrindavan & Mathura • By Gurukul Foundation
On the sacred occasion of the full moon, compassion becomes a living offering. In Vrindavan and Mathura, countless monkeys struggle daily for food, water, and medical help. Many are injured, hungry, or displaced due to shrinking forests and growing human settlements. Through this Vanar Seva, we offer nourishment and care to these sacred beings, honoring them as devotees of Hanuman and protectors of dharma.
Project Purpose
The purpose of this Vanar Seva is to provide daily food, clean water, and basic medical support to monkeys living around temples, ghats, and forest edges. This seva helps reduce suffering, hunger, and untreated wounds, while restoring balance between humans and nature through mindful compassion.
What the Relief Drive Includes
Implementation Approach & Dignity First
This Vanar Seva is carried out with respect for wildlife and local harmony. Volunteers serve quietly, without disturbing natural behavior or creating dependency. Food and water are offered in appropriate spaces to ensure safety for both animals and people.
On this sacred full moon, this seva becomes a prayer in action — a way to honor Hanuman ji’s companions by protecting life, reducing suffering, and nurturing compassion in the world.
