Sakat Chauth Vridh Mata Seva – Feeding & Winter Relief for Old Widow Mothers A Compassion Initiative by Gurukul Foundation (Vrindavan & Mathura)
Sakat Chauth (also known as Sakat Chaturthi) is a sacred day associated with devotion, sankalp, and blessings. On this auspicious occasion, Gurukul Foundation dedicates its seva to the old widow mothers (Vridh Mata) living in Vrindavan and Mathura—women who have endured years of hardship, loneliness, fragile health, and limited resources. Winter makes daily survival even more difficult. Our effort is to provide timely meals and winter relief support so that no mother spends these cold days hungry, helpless, or without warmth.
Why This Seva Matters During Winter
In the winter months, the elderly face higher risk of weakness, cold-related illness, and discomfort. Many widow mothers in Vrindavan–Mathura live with minimal support and depend on irregular help. A warm meal and basic winter essentials can bring immediate relief—strength for the body, peace for the heart, and dignity in daily living. This Sakat Chauth, we aim to transform devotion into compassion by serving those who need care the most.
