Sakat Chauth Vridh Mata Seva – Feeding & Winter Relief for Old Widow Mothers A Compassion Initiative by Gurukul Foundation (Vrindavan & Mathura)

Sakat Chauth (also known as Sakat Chaturthi) is a sacred day associated with devotion, sankalp, and blessings. On this auspicious occasion, Gurukul Foundation dedicates its seva to the old widow mothers (Vridh Mata) living in Vrindavan and Mathura—women who have endured years of hardship, loneliness, fragile health, and limited resources. Winter makes daily survival even more difficult. Our effort is to provide timely meals and winter relief support so that no mother spends these cold days hungry, helpless, or without warmth.

Why This Seva Matters During Winter

In the winter months, the elderly face higher risk of weakness, cold-related illness, and discomfort. Many widow mothers in Vrindavan–Mathura live with minimal support and depend on irregular help. A warm meal and basic winter essentials can bring immediate relief—strength for the body, peace for the heart, and dignity in daily living. This Sakat Chauth, we aim to transform devotion into compassion by serving those who need care the most.

What Sakat Chauth Vridh Mata Seva Includes

🍲 Feeding Seva (Ann Daan)
Serving meals to elderly widow mothers with a focus on timely distribution and respectful serving, so no one is left hungry.
🧣 Winter Relief Support
Need-based winter essentials such as blankets/shawls and warm support items to reduce cold stress and discomfort during harsh nights.
🩺 Basic Comfort & Care
Coordinating essential support where required—small comforts, basic wellness help, and careful attention to those who are weakest.
🤝 Dignity & Respect
Seva is done quietly and respectfully. Our team prioritizes cleanliness, calm distribution, and dignity—so every mother feels cared for.

How Your Support Helps

  • Meal preparation/arrangements and timely distribution for Vridh Mata in Vrindavan & Mathura.
  • Procurement of winter relief items (blankets/shawls and warm essentials as needed).
  • Clean packing, transport, and on-ground coordination to ensure smooth seva rounds.
  • Support for the most vulnerable mothers who require extra care and attention.
  • Maintaining dignity-focused distribution with hygiene and respectful handling.

This Sakat Chauth, let your devotion become warmth for a mother who has no one. A meal served on time and a blanket offered with respect can restore comfort and hope. May your seva bring peace to your heart and blessings to your home, as you stand with the widow mothers of Vrindavan and Mathura through winter.
