Gurukul Foundation — Shanivaar Food & Blanket Seva Drive Weekly relief for the needy: meals, blankets & essential support with dignity
Shanivaar (Saturday) is dedicated to Shani Dev Bhagwan—a day that inspires discipline, responsibility, and compassionate action. Through this weekly seva drive, Gurukul Foundation reaches people who face hunger and harsh weather with limited resources. Street families, daily-wage workers, elderly individuals, and people living in shelters often struggle to arrange even one wholesome meal, and winter nights can become painful and unsafe without warmth. This initiative is our humble effort to convert devotion into service—so that food and comfort reach those who need it most, in a calm and respectful way.
Why Shanivaar Seva Matters
For many vulnerable people, hunger is daily and cold is constant. A timely meal restores strength and dignity. A warm blanket reduces winter stress and helps prevent illness—especially for children and senior citizens. By offering seva on Shanivaar in the name of Shani Dev, we choose to support real relief that can be felt immediately: a full plate, a warmer night, and a quieter sense of safety.
What This Weekly Seva Includes
Our Approach: Seva With Respect
Gurukul Foundation believes that help should never make anyone feel small. We identify areas where hunger and winter hardship are visible—near shelters, labour zones, roadside settlements, and hospital surroundings—then distribute food and blankets with patience and dignity. Elderly and differently-abled people are prioritised wherever possible. We also maintain hygiene and clean handling during packing and distribution.
This is a weekly commitment, so support creates continuity. When many hands contribute together, the impact becomes stronger—more meals served, more blankets distributed, and more vulnerable lives protected. On Shanivaar, let your devotion reach someone as warmth and nourishment.
- Support weekly meals and blanket distribution for the needy.
- Contribute in-kind (blankets, dry ration, or meal supplies) as per feasibility.
- Volunteer for packing, distribution, and on-ground coordination (where feasible).
