Shiva and Kanwar Seva Campaign by Gurukul Foundation

The sacred month of Sawan brings with it the spiritually charged Kanwar Yatra, where lakhs of devotees of Lord Shiva (Kanwariyas) walk barefoot, carrying the holy Ganga Jal to their home temples. Many of these devotees come from humble backgrounds and endure hunger, injuries, and exhaustion during this sacred journey.

Gurukul Foundation has launched a humanitarian campaign dedicated to supporting these pilgrims throughout their path with basic necessities — including food, medical aid, rest spaces, and spiritual care. By contributing to this project, donors become an integral part of Shiva Seva through Kanwar Seva.

Project Objectives

  • To provide free sattvic meals to tired and hungry Kanwariyas.
  • To establish temporary shelters for rest and spiritual relief.
  • To arrange basic medical aid such as ointments, bandages, and hydration packs.
  • To offer green fodder (hara chara) and water to Nandi and other sacred cows en route.
  • To encourage people who cannot walk the Kanwar Yatra to serve through donation and volunteer work.

Implementation Area

The service camps will be set up along the high-traffic routes of the Haridwar–Dehradun highway, including stops near Rishikesh, Raiwala, and key entry points into Dehradun city. These areas witness high pilgrim footfall and are often underserved in terms of on-ground facilities.

Services Offered

  • Two nutritious sattvic meals a day (Puri-Sabzi, khichdi, fruits, ORS).
  • Free first-aid and access to medical volunteers.
  • Shelters with water supply and resting mats.
  • Spiritual bhajan and chanting zones to rejuvenate mental peace.
  • Distribution of green fodder for cows and Nandi at key temple stops.

Why Support This Campaign?

Supporting Kanwar Yatris is equivalent to serving Lord Shiva Himself. A hungry devotee, a wounded foot, or a tired soul — your donation can bring comfort and care. Shiva Seva is incomplete without Kanwar Seva. This is your chance to walk the divine path through your seva and kindness.

Join the Divine Mission

Whether you are a devotee, a donor, or a well-wisher — your contribution will ensure that no Kanwariya goes hungry, unattended, or unsupported during this holy journey. Support the Shiva and Kanwar Seva Campaign by Gurukul Foundation and earn divine blessings this Sawan.

Har Har Mahadev! Jai Bhole Nath!
